Depart for an early morning game-viewing drive returning for breakfast. The Samburu Game Reserve offers some of the finest game viewing opportunities. Rare animal species like the eland thrive and are in abundance in this region. Samburu is home to some fascinating wildlife, like the long necked gerenuk, which can reach a height of two metres by standing on its hind legs and elongating its neck. Mid-morning at leisure. We will have breakfast and then go on a game drive as we exit the park and drive to the Mount Kenya region. Lunch will be at Sweetwater’s tented camp before we proceed on an afternoon game drive in Sweetwaters sanctuary. Sweetwaters is the only sanctuary for the rehabilitation of chimpanzees in Kenya. Two groups of these primates live in an environment as close to their natural habitat as possible. This is also a dedicated black rhino breeding area. Meals and overnight at Sweetwaters Tented Camp.

Day 4: Ol Pejeta Conservancy to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in time for lunch at the lodge. Lake Nakuru is famous for its seasonal pink Flamingoes and other aquatic birds. As well as seeing many large game animals such as Zebras, and gazelles, this is one of our best chances of seeing rhinos. Lake Nakuru National Park was the first place in Kenya selected as a rhino reserve. Here is one of the few places where we can see Rothschild’s giraffes. Meals and overnight at the Sarova Lion Hill Lodge.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha

Spend the afternoon on a game drive, returning before dusk for dinner and our overnight stay at Mara Serena Lodge, which is situated in an excellent location within the reserve. Full Board

Day 7: Masai Mara Game Reserve

Spend the full day exploring Masai Mara in search of the Big Five. Over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. We will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, elephants, and many kinds of antelopes. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place: the great migration. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna – lions, cheetahs, wild dogs, jackals, hyenas, and vultures. (Optional excursions available: hot air balloon or visit a Masai tribal village). Meals and overnight at Mara Serena Lodge or similar.
