Day 1: Arrival – Nairobi

Arrival into Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. After clearing customs and immigration formalities, we are met by our representative and transferred to the Sarova Stanley Hotel where we spend the night. Overnight at the Sarova Stanley Hotel. Bed & Breakfast

Day 2: Nairobi to Amboseli

After breakfast pick up from Nairobi hotel in the morning at 0730hrs and proceed to the Amboseli National Park famous for its big game-elephants, lions, and cheetahs are the main attractions-and for its great scenery beauty. Relax in the lodge getting ready for the afternoon game drive. Amboseli embodies five main wildlife habitats, plus a generally dry lakebed – Lake Amboseli. In the early evening, the clouds clear, exposing the snow–capped dome of Mount Kilimanjaro. Meals and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge. Full Board

Day 3: Amboseli National Park

Full day in Amboseli with morning and afternoon game drive. Amboseli National park is one of the most popular wildlife sanctuaries in Kenya. Amboseli National Park is often referred to as “The home of Elephants” some of the largest Elephant herds are found here. The swamps are great for water-associated birds such as egrets, herons, pelicans and crowned cranes. The grassland areas offer some interesting ground birds such as Hartlaub’s bustard and the localized Pangani longclaw. Other notable birds are African jacana, Goliath heron, and Rufous chatterer. Meals and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge. Full Board.

Day 4: Amboseli to Aberdares

Breakfast then depart for Aberdare National Park via Nairobi. After lunch, we leave our main luggage at the base hotel and continue with just our overnight bags to one of the famous “tree hotels” deep in the Aberdares Forest. A special feature of the lodge where we stay is the floodlit watering hole where we can watch from the lodge itself throughout the night as the animals come down to drink. In the morning, we hope to have spectacular views towards jagged outline of Mount Kenya. Dinner and overnight at the Ark. Full Board

Day 5: Aberdares to Samburu

Breakfast and return to the Outspan to rejoin our driver/guide and vehicle. Depart for Samburu Game Reserve. Afternoon game-viewing drive in the stark countryside which is an amazing sanctuary for Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk, Elephant, Leopard, Lion, and other plains game. The reserve is home to different bird species including arid acacia savannah, scrub and gallery forest alongside the Uaso Nyiro River. The dry, open country offers very rewarding birding opportunities and boasts a number of northeast African dry-country species such as vulturine Guinea fowl, Somali bee-eater and golden-breasted starling. Meals and overnight at Ashnil Samburu Camp. Full Board

Day 6: Samburu Game Reserve

Depart for an early morning game-viewing drive returning for breakfast. The Samburu Game Reserve offers some of the finest game viewing opportunities. Samburu is home to some fascinating wildlife, like the long necked gerenuk, which can reach a height of two metres by standing on its hind legs and elongating its neck. This is also your best chance to see the blue-legged Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, the long-necked Gerenuk gazelle and the straight-horned Beisa Oryx antelope. Lunch is followed by another game –viewing drive returning for dinner and overnight at Ashnil Samburu Camp. Full Board

Day 7: Samburu to Lake Nakuru

Depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon game viewing drive. Lake Nakuru is famous for its seasonal pink Flamingos and other aquatic birds. As well as seeing many large game animals such as zebras, and gazelles, this is one of our best chances of seeing rhinos. Here is one of the few places where we can see Rothschild’s giraffes. Meals and overnight at the Sarova Lion Hill Lodge. Full Board

Day 8: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara

After breakfast, depart for Masai Mara Game Reserve driving along the floor of the Rift Valley to arrive in time for lunch. Afternoon game drives in Masai Mara Game Reserve as per our convenience. Search for Mara popular residents like the well-known predators and their opponents like the Zebra, Wildebeest, Giraffe, Hippo, and the dangerous Crocodiles. Notable birds in Masai Mara includes Secretary bird, sooty chat, Kori bustard, Rufous bellied heron etc. It offers breathtaking views as seen in the Film ‘Out of Africa’ much of which was filmed here.  Masai Mara Game Reserve is one of the best National Reserves in Africa and offers superb game viewing opportunities throughout the year. Meals and overnight at Ashnil Mara Luxury Camp. Full Board

Day 9: Masai Mara Game Reserve

Spend the day on game drive. Masai Mara the vast, open grasslands of the Serengeti-Mara are home to over 3 million large mammals. These includes over 1.4 million wildebeest which migrate in an enormous, straggling herd each year between the southern part of the Serengeti to the northern part and back again. On our morning and afternoon game drives in the Masai Mara, we have a very good chance of seeing all the major plains animals including lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, rhino, hyena, cheetah, jackal, warthog, and many species of antelope. (Optional excursions available: hot air balloon or visit a Masai tribal village). Meals and overnight at the Ashnil Mara Luxury Camp. Full Board

Day 10: Departure day

Early pre -breakfast game viewing drive in search of the predators and grazers. Thereafter depart for the journey back to Nairobi and then transfer to the airport for our onward flight.
