Day 1 – Arrival – Nairobi
Arrival into Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. After clearing customs and immigration formalities, we are met by our representative and transferred to the Sarova Stanley Hotel where we spend the night. Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 2: Nairobi to Lake Nakuru
After breakfast pick up from Nairobi hotel in the morning at around 0700hrs and proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park. We will take a brief stop at Kijabe viewpoint for a few shots of this amazing natural phenomenon. Lake Nakuru is famous for its seasonal pink flamingos and other aquatic birds. As well as seeing many large game animals such as Zebras, and gazelles, this is one of our best chances of seeing rhinos. Here is one of the few places where we can see Rothschild’s giraffes. Meals and overnight at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge or similar.
Day 3: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara
After breakfast, depart for Masai Mara Game Reserve driving along the floor of the Rift Valley to arrive in time for lunch. Afternoon game drives in Masai Mara Game Reserve as per our convenience. Masai Mara Game Reserve is one of the best National Reserves in Africa and offers superb game viewing opportunities throughout the year. Meals and overnight at Ashnil Mara Luxury Camp or similar.
Day 4: Masai Mara Game Reserve
Full day in the Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. We will visit the Mara River for hippo and crocodile viewing. Search for Mara popular residents like the well-known predators and their opponents like the Zebra, Wildebeest, Giraffe, Hippo, and the dangerous Crocodiles. It offers breathtaking views as seen in the Film ‘Out of Africa’ much of which was filmed here. Meals and overnight at the Ashnil Mara Luxury Camp or similar.
Day 5: Masai Mara Game Reserve
Spend the day on game drive. Masai Mara the vast, open grasslands of the Serengeti-Mara are home to over 3 million large mammals. These includes over 1.4 million wildebeest which migrate in an enormous, straggling herd each year between the southern part of the Serengeti to the northern part and back again. On our morning and afternoon game drives in the Masai Mara, we have a very good chance of seeing all the major plains animals including lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, rhino, hyena, cheetah, jackal, warthog, and many species of antelope. (Optional excursions available: hot air balloon or visit a Masai tribal village). Meals and overnight at the Ashnil Mara Luxury Camp or similar.
Day 6: Masai Mara to Serengeti
After breakfast, we leave the Masai Mara and proceed to Serengeti. Cross the Kenya – Tanzania common border at Isebania and Serari and proceed to Serengeti National Park via Ndabaka. Swap the vehicles and take the Tanzanian registered vehicle. Drive to the famous Serengeti National Park, picnic lunch on the way. Enroute game viewing drive. Serengeti is one of the unique wilderness areas of the world, fantastic in its natural beauty and unequaled in its scientific value. This park is a vast expanse of land with a large concentration of plains animals. It also contains a wide variety of bird-life inhabiting a diversity of habitat and vegetation. One of the unique remarkable scenes is the annual migration of wildebeest, zebras, giraffe, gazelle, buffalo, and other plains animals. Meals and Overnight at Shuhudia Adventure Camp or similar.
Day 7: Serengeti National Park
Full day in Serengeti with unlimited game drives in the Park in search of wildlife with packed breakfast or lunch if you like. You could also enjoy just a morning and afternoon game drive if you prefer or simply go out for a longer morning game drive or full day game drive. Meals and Overnight at Shuhudia Adventure Camp or similar.
Day 8: Serengeti to Ngorongoro
After breakfast, proceed to Ngorongoro. The drive is scenic and on arrival, we descend some 610 meters into the crater, which is home to an abundance of wildlife and a photogenic paradise, for a full day of game viewing drive with picnic lunch at a private scenic site (hippos pool). Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact caldera in the world teams with an abundance of wildlife permanently resident on the crater floor. Prides of lions, herds of Cape buffalo, impala, Thompson gazelles, rhino, golden and black backed jackal, zebra, cheetah, leopard and the spotted hyena freely roam on the crater floor plains. Unmatched for its natural variety and breath taking beauty, there are few places on earth where such a tremendous diversity of landscapes exist inside a region this size. Apart from its wildlife riches, the crater is also home to hundreds of bird species, refreshing in the small lakes in the crater floor. Meals and overnight at the Lodge or similar.
Day 9: Ngorongoro to Tarangire
After breakfast, drive to Tarangire. Lunch enroute followed by an afternoon Game drive through Tarangire. Tarangire National park is 2850 Square kilometers making it the sixth largest park in Tanzania and offering the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti. Tarangire is known for its large herds of Elephants which can be viewed at close range. Other animals likely to be seen throughout Tarangire are wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, gazelle, rhino, warthog, impala, pythons, lions, leopards, and over 50 species of birds. Meals and accommodation at Tarangire safari lodge or similar.
Day 10: Tarangire to Arusha to Amboseli
After breakfast, we pack up again, leave Tarangire National Park. The drive takes us through Arusha town. Proceed to Amboseli National Park, crossing the Tanzania and Kenya common border at Namanga. After immigration formalities, proceed to Amboseli National Park, and check in at Amboseli Serena Lodge. Evening game viewing drive. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge or similar.
Day 11: Amboseli National Park
Full day in Amboseli with morning and afternoon game drive. Amboseli National park is one of the most popular wildlife sanctuaries in Kenya. It is situated close to Kenya- Tanzania border, The Park lies at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa (5,896m) whose snow-capped summit presents a splendid view on clear days. Amboseli National Park is often referred to as “The home of Elephants’ some of the largest Elephant herds are found here. Meals and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge.
Day 12: Amboseli to Nairobi
Early pre -breakfast game viewing drive in search of the predators and grazers. Extra final game drive at the Amboseli national park. Depart the Amboseli for Nairobi to arrive in the afternoon. Farewell dinner at the famous carnivore restaurant later transfer to the airport for our onward flight.
