10-Day East Africa Treasures

This is a safari features Kenya and Tanzania’s premier parks. Visit Lake Nakuru National park thereafter proceeding towards Kenya’s premier wildlife park-the Masai Mara. The tour covers Serengeti, Ngorongoro and finally summing it up with Tarangire national park. Serengeti is notable for its large migratory herds of wildebeest and zebras with strings of predators in trail. The Ngorongoro crater also offers amazing wildlife viewing and scenery.

Day1: Arrival - Nairobi                                                                                                                                                

Pick up from the airport on arrival and transfer you to the Hotel of your choice for overnight stay in readiness for an adventure safari the following morning. This arrangement is suitable for those in Nairobi in the evening or mid day. If you wish to start the tour immediately upon arrival, be advised to book inbound flights arriving Nairobi before 0930Hrs. Overnight stay at the Hotel. Bed & Breakfast

Day 2: Nairobi - Lake Nakuru                                                                                                                                        

Pick up from hotel at 0730hrs, a safari briefing session with our representative then drive to Lake Nakuru national to arrive in good time for Lunch. The park covers 180 sq km and is home to warthogs, waterbuck, buffaloes, reedbucks, and the occasional leopard. White and black rhinos were introduced to the park some years ago and you will find white rhino at the southern end. The park has also retained its reputation as an ornithologists’ delight with more than 400 species of bird found here. Afternoon game drives then return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Overnight stay at the Lodge/Tented Camp. Full Board

Day 3: Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara                                                                                                                        

Drive through the Great Rift Valley to arrive at Masai Mara. Lunch will be taken enroute. Afternoon game drive in the game reserve which is Kenya's finest wildlife sanctuary. Including migrants, well over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. Although July, August and September are the months when the Mara plains are filled with migrating wildebeest and zebra, there is also resident wildlife year round. The famous Masai tribesmen live within the dispersal area of the game reserve. Overnight stay at the Lodge/Tented Camp. Full Board

Day 4: Masai Mara Game Reserve                                                                                                                                

After breakfast full day spent game viewing a cross the rich, tree studded grassland and rolling hills. The famous Masai Mara is renowned for its great herds of plain game, black-manned lions, leopard and cheetah but also contains numerous elephant and virtually every type of wild life to be found in Kenya, lunch is served in the park at the Mara river, the boarder of Kenya and Tanzania and the scene for yearly wildebeest migration, after lunch continue with our game drive covering the park into sections. Overnight stay at the Lodge/Tented Camp. Full Board

Day 5: Masai Mara Game Reserve                                                                                                                                

On our morning and afternoon game drives in the Masai Mara, we have a very good chance of seeing all the major plains animals including lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, rhino, hyena, cheetah, jackal, warthog, and many species of antelope. (Optional excursions available: hot air balloon or visit a Masai tribal village). Overnight stay at the Lodge/Tented Camp. Full Board

Day 6: Masai Mara – Serengeti                                                                                                                                      

After breakfast in Masai Mara, drive to Serengeti via Isebania border. Enter Serengeti via Ndabaka gate for a full day game drives, we drive south and west to the western corridor of the great Serengeti via Ndabaka Gate with a picnic lunch. Overnight stay at the Lodge/Tented Camp. Full Board

Day 7: Serengeti National Park                                                                                                                                      

A full day’s game viewing in the central Serengeti. Overnight at one of the campsites in Seronera. Serengeti offers rewarding bird viewing with ostrich and kori bustard being common, a variety of larks, finches, and raptors can be seen but the most distinctive small bird is the lilac breasted roller. Overnight stay at the Lodge/Tented Camp. Full Board

Day 8: Ngorongoro crater                                                                                                                                               

We view game as we drive southeast up into the magnificent Ngorongoro Conservation Area where we spend the night at the Simba (Lion) campsite on the crater rim. The Ngorongoro crater is the world’s biggest whole volcanic caldera at 8300 sq km and is arguably the most stunning arena. It is frequently described as one of the wonders of the world, not only because of its geological magnificence, but also because it serves as an extraordinary natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s largest populations of large mammals. Ngorongoro and other freestanding mountains are volcanic in origin, formed during the fracturing process that created the Rift valley 15 to 20 million years ago. When it peaked in size 3 million years ago it was a similar height to Mt. Kilimanjaro today! Overnight stay at the Lodge/Tented Camp. Full Board

Day 9: Ngorongoro – Tarangire                                                                                                                                     

We start refreshingly early to enjoy a full morning’s crater tour as we have a greater chance of seeing wildlife at this early hour. After lunch, we leave the crater for the short drive to nearby Tarangire national park. Game drive enroute to the Lodge/Camp for dinner and overnight. Full Board

Day 10: Tarangire – Arusha                                                                                                                                               

After breakfast, we enjoy our last game drive in this great park. Tarangire supports the biggest population of African Elephants. After lunch, the tour departs for Arusha where the tour ends in the early afternoon. Excellent opportunities for those who want to extend to Zanzibar for beach relaxation. (Breakfast & Lunch included)
